Product Description
In 1964, Ford introduced the Fairlane Thunderbolt as the blue oval's big weapon for the dragstrip. These special T-Bolt's were lightweight versions of the regular Fairlane, with fiberglass front end, doors, and bumpers, a sparce interior and Plexiglass windows all the way around. Under the teardrop hood was Ford's massive 427 cubic-inch FE series engine. Destined to become one of the greatest drag cars of all time, the Thunderbolt was quite successful and earned the 1964 NHRA Manufacturer's Cup award. With a minuscule production run of only 100 cars (59 automatics and 41 4-speeds), the T-bolt has become a super-rare collector's car today. The Bob Ford dealership campaigned four Thunderbolts in 1964. This particular car was the second T-bolt produced, and was raced by Len Richter to the '64 AHRA Championship. This amazing 1/18th scale replica of the 1964 Thunderbolt was produced by for the GMP Acme Trading Company brand, and they are pretty rare in their own right (only 1,000 of them produced worldwide). Each one has it's own individual serial number.
